He draws the humble close to Himself. In fact, pride creates a vast distance between you and God. Pride is a manifestation of the natural and carnal traits in a man. A truly born-again and Spirit-filled Christian should not be found guilty of this vice. If truly you are for Christ, then you must necessarily possess a humble heart, the mind of Christ. Unlike the proud man who struggles with his ego, the humble man is at peace with God, himself and his fellow man. Humility is not a sign of weakness but an indication of brokenness in a believer’s life. You are actually confident and bold in Christ. The Bible tells us that there is nothing we have that has not been given to us by God. It is written repeatedly that we desist from any form of self-praise and self-righteousness. We do not have any power of our own, knowledge, intelligence, abilities or capabilities. READ MFM Daily Devotional 25 July 2023 – Deal With That Pride (I) All is by the grace of God. By strength shall no man prevail, except by the mercy of God. It is not by power but by the Spirit of God. These scriptures and more are pointers to the fact that no man can boast of being completely free from the sin of pride. But as you grow in the spirit, you are able to do away with the works of the flesh, one of which is pride. Above all, beloved, according to the scriptures, let him that thinks he stands to be careful lest he falls. This simply means that no one can claim to be free from the grip of pride. We sometimes think it or act it. When you boast, exaggerate, or get angry for not being noticed or duly acknowledged for your position, status, level of achievement or spiritual strength, it could mean a subtle demonstration of pride. The truth is that every angry man is a proud man. All because he or she feels cheated or disregarded. The Bible warns us against sell-exaltation in Matt.23:12, but if you humble yourself, you shall be exalted and celebrated. To overcome, therefore, be ready to discipline yourself by dealing with every activity of the flesh in you. Like the apostle Paul, bring it to subjection under the control of the Spirit of God. Pray against the root of pride in your life. Uproot i https://thechristgospelradio.com/mfm-daily-devotional-26-july-2023-deal-with-that-pride-ii/?feed_id=2922&_unique_id=64bff20c77fc5
