MFM Daily Devotional 24 May 2023 – Lessons from The Life of Jonathan (II)

MFM Daily Devotional 24 May 2023 TOPIC: Lessons from The Life of Jonathan (II) MEMORY VERSE A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. Proverbs 12:23 MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:  Everyone qualifies for your love, but not all you love qualify to know your secrets! Keep your secret, secret!!! PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: Receive the wisdom to know what to conceal and what to proclaim, in the name of Jesus. FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 14:1-12 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Esther 4 – 6; John 9 – 10 MFM Daily Devotional 24 May 2023 MESSAGE Yesterday, we started to study the life of Jonathan and saw how his daring attitude brought victory not only for him but for the host of Israel. Today, we want to glean more life’s lessons from this young man.  Jonathan has discretion and this helped him greatly.”….But Jonathan did not tell his father what he was doing.” (1 Samuel 14:1b NLT). From the text above, we can see that Jonathan was discrete about his plans and visions. He was a man that knew how to keep his secret, secret. In life, there are certain pieces of information that should remain close to our heart while others can be shared. Failure to decipher this and keep sensitive matters out of public domain may result in serious damage to our lives. There are items of information or revelation about our lives that should remain a secret. If Jonathan had revealed his plans to his father, probably, he might have been talked or discouraged out of his vision. He wouldn’t have achieved the feat he achieved. Joseph revealed his vision and dreams to his brethren, only the grace of God ensured it wasn’t truncated (Genesis 37:19-20). Samson’s parents had known the secret of Samson’s strength, yet they told no one (Judges 13:5). The day Delilah heard it from Samson himself, she sold him off for destruction (Judges 16:17,18). Everyone qualifies for your love. However, not all the people you love quality to know the secrets of your life! Because, some may not be able to handle it, while others cannot wait to use it for their personal gain! The adversary that wants to destroy you, oftentimes, does not come with a sword but with a smile, beware! Beloved, it is high time we learned to keep a watch over our mouths. If some of us had kept quiet about certain revelations about our lives and destinies, we would have gone farther in life than where we are now. May we be wiser and more discrete in our dealings, in the name of Jesus. MFM Daily Devotional 24 May 2023 PRAYER POINTS  MORNING 1.
